In many villages of Eastern Uganda, families walk two to four hours each day just to collect water from contaminated streams and ponds. This water causes diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid, and waterborne diseases that kill hundreds of children every year.
Aid For Uganda is drilling boreholes and installing hand pumps that bring safe, clean water directly to communities. A single water well costs approximately $800 and serves 200 or more people for over 20 years.
